If you want a thriller from someone who has been there, you've come to the right place.

Savage is a former military officer with two overseas tours. He joined the Army Security Agency when he was seventeen and was on active duty for more than a decade. In that time, he served in the U.S. Intelligence and National Security Command, the 25th Infantry Division, and the 77th Military Intelligence Detachment. Later in his career, served as a ballistic shield and rescue officer for a SWAT team.

Ultimately, he became an emergency physician and served as the Assistant State Medical Director of two state prison systems.

After finishing the Yale Writer's Conference and the International Thriller Writer's School, he took an MFA in Popular Fiction at Emerson College in Boston. His workshop instructors have included Donald Maass, Heather Graham, Michael Cunningham, Robert McKee, Hank Phillipi Ryan, and other noted authors. To better understand how modern fiction works, he did a postgraduate fellowship in digital marketing.

He currently lives in Connecticut, where you can often find him being taken for walks by his rescue Great Dame, Sally, while they practice Shinrin-yoku, a type of meditation he learned when he was stationed in Japan. You also can find him at admin@savagewrites.com
